Clarins Lip Oil!

Hello!

Since using my Clarin’s face oil I’ve been desperate to try their lip oil, so I finally took the plunge and treated myself to one. I chose the shade Raspberry, a nice bright pink that smells like sweets!

A3AADC660E0B4EE48E78B6A0F01441A6

It comes in a little bottle with a spongy applicator so its very easy to apply. It leaves a very slight tint of pink on your lips and is not sticky at all. I put this oil on before go to bed so it sinks in and I wake up with super soft lips! Since I’ve been using this I have no dry skin on my lips at all, even in the cold weather. You only need to use a tiny bit of this oil at a time so this bottle should last me a good while.

I also got to choose three free samples to come with my order! I chose an eye cream as I haven’t really tried many and I’m always looking for a way to get rid of my dark circles. I also got the double serum as I’ve never used a serum and this one is supposed to be amazing! I also got a sample of the face oil I use to give to my mum. So far I’m really liking the eye cream but haven’t tried the serum yet.

I would definitely recommend this oil, especially if you struggle with chapped lips. It comes in lots of different flavours and colours so you’ll definitely find one you like!

I hope you liked this post, feel free to tell me your thoughts!

Brilliant Banana Bread!

Hello!

I make banana bread all the time! It is quick and easy to make and is so so delicious! The bananas in it even let me convince myself its healthy. Banana’s are a natural source of  Potassium and Carbs and make the bread very naturally sweet, so if you have a sweet tooth this is definitely for you.

This is a very simple recipe so you won’t need to many ingredients. It is best to wait until your bananas are over ripe so they are squishy and mashable! I usually make this if I have old bananas I don’t want to waste.

You Will Need

  • 140g Softened Butter
  • 140g plain four
  • 140g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tea spoon of baking powder
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 loaf tin + baking paper

First off you will need to mix together your Butter and Sugar until they are lighter in colour and quite fluffy!

0C5254F373634E659FCE8DA2A4A95954

Crack your two eggs into a jug and beat together. Add them to the mixture bit by bit with a small amount of the flour so its not to sloppy. Once its all mixed together add the rest of the flour and combine.

Now add a tea spoon of baking powder, your mashed banana and mix it all together so the banana is evenly spread through the mix. Finally pour the mixture into a lined loaf tin and pop it in the over for 30-40 minutes.

Poke a Knife or a skewer into the bread, if it comes out clean its done! Carefully take it out of the tin and peel the baking paper off. Dust with icing sugar and now its ready to eat. Its extra good while its still warm!

I hope you all enjoy this quick Banana bread recipe, have a go at making it and let me know how it goes!

Mini TK Max Haul!

Hello!

I have recently discovered the wonders of TK Max! I had no idea that they had a beauty section and now I know I’m obsessed. All the products are very good quality for much cheaper prices and some are very high end! Naturally I went on a little shopping spree so I thought I’d show you my mini haul.

First I found this Rose Micellar Cleanser by Adora Skin for £4.99. Usually I use a cleansing balm so this is a nice change as it makes taking my make up off super quick and easy. I pour some of this onto a cotton pad and gently wipe away my make up. I love that this doesn’t leave my skin dry but makes it feel very clean and nourished. It does sting a little bit if it gets in my eyes but thats understandable because your not supposed to put it in your eyes…

5EFB068AA06F4D4793838C447407189C

I usually use coconut oil on my hair once a week as a hydrating mask so I picked up this coconut hair oil mist for £5.99. I spray a little bit of this onto my hair while its wet, comb it through and let it dry. Since I’ve been using this my hair has definitely been incredibly soft and very voluminous! I really really love this and would definitely recommend it especially if you have curly hair. remember with oil that less is more or you’ll be very greasy but it really keeps my hair hydrated and much less frizzy! This is definitely going to be a permanent part of my hair care routine.

12965714442946A3A2FED1649A61D754

Now this is where it get really really exciting!

I found a Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick for £4.99 instead of £19! I cannot believe they had these for such a good price! I picked the shade Jelly Donut which is very vibrant and the perfect shade for spring. Ive really been loving this as its not drying like most liquid lipsticks. Its also very buildable so you can have it super pink and bright or very natural so it looks like your real lips but better. Its in a squeezy tube with a sponge applicator so its very easy to apply and very wearable! I’m very tempted to go and get more of these…

I also found one of my holy grail eyeliners for £4.99 instead of the usual £16! Eyeko liners are my favourite eyeliners in the whole world, I always have one in my makeup bag as they last so long and are super easy to use. I am going to do a whole post on how much a love them very very soon! This one if the fat liner which is like a giant marker pen, perfect for bold liner looks.

So its safe to say I am now a big fan of TK Max and am definitely going to keep shopping there and looking for new bargains! I also found a Clarin’s lipstick for £7.99 but I gave it to my mum for mothers day so its not in this haul.  I would definitely recommend you pop down to your nearest TK Max (TJ Max if your in America) and have a browse in the beauty section as you could find some great stuff.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, let me know your thoughts!

speak to you very soon!

The Face Oil I Can’t Be Without!

Hello!

I have never really stuck to a daily skin routine or used any products on my skin other than moisturiser. So recently I’ve really been trying to get into a skin routine and commit to it because this face has to last me a life time! I’ve been trying out lots of new products to see what works with my skin, I never thought I’d like a face oil as I already have slightly oily skin but I have found one that I love!

I got this Clarin’s face oil for Christmas after I had run out of the sample as I just couldn’t be without it! This is the first Clarin’s product I have ever used and I’m super impressed.

25D6234792A145F687ED8B3ABC7B2BFB

I use this Lotus face oil most nights after I have moisturised to help rebalance the oils in my skin. When I wake up my skin is glowy, soft and dewy! Its Important to apply your face oil after your moisturiser as if you apply it before the oil acts as a barrier and prevents the moisturiser from reaching the skin.

This oil is made completely from extracts of lotus and hazelnut which help to tighten pores, balance the skin, hydrate and prevent fine lines. The lotus oil is for combination to oily skin but they also have an Santal oil for dry skin and a blue orchid oil which I’m sure are just as lovely as this one.

The oil comes in a 30ml bottle with a dropper so its super easy to apply and not at all messy. my skin feels nourished and radiant after using this and it will definitely be in my skin routine for a while! Im definitely going to invest in one of their lip oils next!

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I’ll see you again very soon!

New Year, New Skin!

Hello!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope it has started off well for everyone. I haven’t blogged for absolutely ages as I’ve had exams but I’m back now with lots of fresh ideas for this year!

Throughout January I really struggling with my skin and had constant breakouts so I’ve been trying out a few new products!

My saviour this month has been The Body Shop Tea Tree skin clearing clay mask!

EE46F0F72114402F9328222E96369A64

As you know The Body Shop is one of my all time favourite brands and this product definitely did not disappoint!

This cooling clay mask uses Tea Tree to dry up any spots without drying out your skin. I started using this mask twice a week and definitely noticed a big difference. Tea Tree purify’s your skin by deeply cleansing it and calms any break outs. As well as helping to get rid of spots this mask also absorbs excess sebum which gives you smoother skin, which is especially helpful if you have oily skin.

I applied a thick layer of the mask making my face completely green! left it for around 20 minutes and then rinsed it off with warm water. My face is now a lot less oily and I have a lot less breakouts.

EC638DD8584446D19D9FA39798A3F6C5

This mask has really helped get by breakouts under control and I would definitely recommend trying it if you have problem skin.

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I’ll see you again very soon!

Roasted Butternut Squash Hummus Recipe!

Hello!

Everybody loves Hummus, especially me! I think its the perfect lunchtime snack or addition to a healthy meal. I have recently started making my own Hummus so I thought I would share one of my favourite recipes with you.

Butternut Squash is one of my favourite Winter vegetables and I try to eat as much as possible. I was over the moon when I found out you could put it in Hummus! This is a super simple recipe that only takes you about 10 minutes to make and leaves you with enough Hummus for a whole week.

For this recipe you will need:

  • Butternut Squash
  • 1 tin of chickpeas
  • 1 teaspoon of Tahini
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Water
  • A blender

D712A9AF273847CA88FB9A10B551B904

I used pre-prepared butternut squash chips but you can prepare it yourself if you want to. I only used a handful of squash as it adds a lot of flavour to the Hummus and gives it a creamy texture. Put the Butternut Squash on a baking tray and roast at 200ºc for 20 minutes until it is soft.

D6275C15F4C74314BAF929841C0A9E5E

Now the hard part is over!

Next drain your Chickpeas and put them into a blender along with the roasted Butternut Squash, Tahini, Salt and pepper.

Add a squeeze of lemon to add some extra zingy flavour! I usually add a splash of water to avoid it becoming dry like the sahara desert. Once this is done, blend until it is smooth.

Now add some olive oil and pepper and enjoy the creamy delight that is Hummus! I usually eat mine with toasted Pita Bread or Carrot sticks!

I hope you all enjoyed this recipe and have a go at making this yummy Hummus!

Lush Naked Shower Gel!

Hello!

I’ve been doing quite a lot of Christmas shopping this week an I couldn’t resist picking up some treats for myself!

I picked up one of the new naked shower gels from lush and have been really enjoying it!  I chose Rose Jam which is one of my favourite lush scents as it smells just like turkish delight. Rose is also very nourishing for your skin and helps to reduces any redness or irritation.

24281908_10210265362970330_1919826050_o

The naked shower gels work exactly the same way as the bottled Lush shower gels but Sodium Stearate has been added to make them solid. This makes them far better for the environment as there is absolutely no packaging involved! My favourite thing about lush is how environmentally conscious they are so this product particularly appealed to me and I hope all of you will give this ago rather than your usual bottled shower gel. All Lush products are also cruelty free!

24322137_10210265363970355_1340938867_o

Naked shower gels are super easy to use, you just run them under water and they lather up in your hands! They have a very different texture to a bar of soap and leave your skin soft and moisturised rather than dry. They are definitely just as foamy and smell just as lovely as regular shower gels!

I hope this encourages you all to try out a naked shower gel, let me know how it goes if you do!

I hope everyone enjoys this post!

My Favourite Cleanser!

Hello!

I haven’t posted in quite a while as I’ve had lots of deadlines, so today I thought I’d share my all time favourite cleanser with you.

My favourite cleanser is The Body Shop camomile cleansing butter! I have been using this cleanser for a few years now and haven’t thought changing it once!.

IMG_0042

I use this cleanser every night before bed and it is super easy to use as it’s a buttery balm. You just scoop out a small amount, massage it onto your face dry and it just melts away your makeup, then rinse it off with warm water. The camomile in this cleanser means its very soothing for your skin and is perfect for bedtime! Its also incredibly moisturising and keeps my skin feeling soft.

Before I started using this cleanser I used wipes and I had no idea how much makeup was still left on my skin after using them! This definitely helps my skin stay clear and radient.  Its a fairly affordable cleanser and lasts a long time as you only need to use a small amount each time. This also smells really lovely like most Body Shop products and is cruelty free!

IMG_0046

I would definitely recommend this cleanser to all of you as it is just a really lovely product! If you do try it please let me know how you get on!

I really hope you enjoyed this post!

Unicorn Highlighter!

Hello!

I was on the look out for a new powder highlighter and came across this incredible Unicorns heart highlighter by make up revolution. I’m obsessed with Unicorns so I had to get it and I’ve been really loving it!

IMG_0036

This Highlighter is absolutely beautiful to look at an really does look like a unicorns heart. The rainbow colours create an amazing highlight shade that is absolutely blinding!  Its definitely not a subtle highlight but is very build-able  so you can dust it on lightly for a more natural look.

IMG_0040

I personally like my highlighter to be quite bright so this is how it looks when I use it. It looks white but sparkles different colours in the light. It really is a unicorn highlighter! I find powder highlighters much easier and quicker to use than creams so this is perfect for me and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Halloween Baking!|Biscuit Recipe

Hello!

Since Halloween is just around the corner I thought I would put on my Halloween jumper and make some Halloween biscuits!

IMG_0104.jpg

This recipe is super simple and only takes about half an hour.  To make these biscuits you will need:

  • 250g of softened butter
  • 140g of caster sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tea spoons of vanilla extract
  • 300g of plain flour
  • Cookies cutters

IMG_0002

Lets get started!

First of all you will need to pre heat your oven to 180ºc and then start by combining the butter and the sugar in a big bowl!

Next add the Egg Yolk and Vanilla extract and mix together.

Finally fold in your flour until the mixture turns into a dough, you might want to use your hands towards the end if its easier! You should end up with a ball of biscuit dough thats ready to roll!

Now you can roll out your dough until its about 1cm thick and cut out your biscuits. I decided to make Pumpkins, Bats and Ghosts for Halloween but you can do any shape you want! Line a baking tray with baking paper and pop your biscuits on top. Then they go into the oven for 12-15 minutes until they are golden. I also cut faces into some of the pumpkins using a small knife before I put them into the oven. Be extra careful when your doing this bit so you don’t burn yourself!

Once they have cooled down you can decorate your biscuits!

For my biscuits I decided to use melted chocolate and orange icing. I melted one and a half bars of milk chocolate using a Bain-marie as I find it easiest to do it this way. For the icing I started with icing sugar and added water until it made a paste. I then mixed Orange and Yellow food colouring to turn it orange!

I used a mini sieve to dust icing sugar over the ghosts and filled the pumpkins faces with the orange icing. I dipped the bats in chocolate and used pumpkin sprinkles for eyes. I also dipped some of the other pumpkins in chocolate and covered it in Halloween sprinkles! You can really get creative and decorate them any way you’d like.

IMG_0094.jpg

These are my finished biscuits! I definitely like the Bats the best but they all taste amazing!

IMG_0115.jpg

Thank you to everyone who reads this I really hope you enjoyed it and have a go at making your own Halloween Biscuits!

Trying out new Lush products!

Hello!

I am a big fan of Lush but unfortunately I don’t have a bath in my flat so I don’t get the chance to use many bath bombs. So I decided to give some of their other products a try so I don’t miss out on my Lush fix!

IMG_9057

First off I picked up one of their new jelly face masks as my skin has been quite bad recently and I thought they looked pretty cool! I chose Just To Clarify as it brightens and exfoliates which is exactly what I need for my winter skin!It also smells like Orange which is one of my favourite scents. This mask is super easy to use, you just rub some of the jelly in your hands so it becomes a paste and pop it on your face. I usually leave it for about 20 minutes until it is dry and then wash it off with warm water. It leaves my skin feeling soft, hydrated and looking bright an healthy! I would definitely like to try a few more of these Jelly masks and would 100% recommend them as it has really helped my skin.

IMG_9060

I also got a Scrubee as it was so cute I just couldn’t leave it there! One of the lovely ladies in Lush kindly showed me how to use it, the bumblebee stripes are full of ground almonds and ground coconut shells which exfoliate your skin and the rest of the bee is full of honey and cocoa butter to make your skin super soft and silky! My skin feels unbelievable after I’ve used this and it smells so much like white chocolate its almost good enough to eat!

IMG_9058

Thats all I got from Lush this time but I will definitely have to go again closer to Christmas!

Thank you to everyone who reads this I really hope you enjoyed it!

My first Sephora experience!|Mini Sephora haul

Hello!

Whilst I was in Rome I took my first ever trip to Sephora as we don’t have them in the UK. I picked up a few bits from brands I can’t get at home so I thought I’d share them with you.

IMG_0033

The first thing I picked up was a Sephora Pomegranate face mask which was a really great hydrating sheet mask that made my skin feel amazing and smelt really nice, I really wish I had bought a few more.

IMG_0019

Tony Moly is a Korean brand that has the cutest packaging! I was so excited when I saw it in Sephora and to finally get my hands on some of their skin care. I have loved every single one of these products, the Pandas Dream moisture gel cream and eye stick are very hydrating and make my skin feel very soft and nourished as well as being the cutest products I have ever owned! The jelly face mask was also very moisturising and made my face feel lovely, although I did get a lot of jelly everywhere. Lastly the gloss bar is sooo cute and is a nice natural cherry red colour that is very easy to wear and not drying on the lips. I definitely want to try more from Tony Moly!

The last thing I got was a Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick in the shade Susperia. This lipstick really is everlasting! It stays on for hours and is perfectly matte. I chose this beautiful shade of purple but they come in every colour you could imagine. They also smell like toffee which is nice!

I really enjoyed  my trip to Sephora and will definitely be shopping there again when I can! I would definitely recommend all of the products in this haul, I have really liked them all and they are all fairly affordable.

Thank you to everyone who reads this I really hope you enjoyed it!

Adventures In Rome!|Travel Blog

Hello!

This is going to be a fairly long post so I hope you all enjoy it.

This summer I was lucky enough to go on holiday to Rome for a week. Even though I have family from Italy I had never been before so it was very very exciting!

There is so much to do in Rome everyday was packed and we were constantly on the go! There is history down every street and incredible food everywhere!

Our first discovery was the Pantheon which we stumbled across whilst on the hunt for lunch..

image11

The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, which is now used as a church. Luckily when we found it it wasn’t very busy so we were able to go inside. The whole building is incredible from top to bottom! There is intricate detail all over the Pantheon but my favourite bit was the domed ceiling.

IMG_8245.JPG

Outside the Pantheon the square is packed with tourists and street performers, we even saw an amazing opera singer performing outside. There is a beautiful fountain that I was fully ready to jump into it was so hot! This was the perfect place to chill after a lot of walking around and for a few Instagram opportunities. The boy on the right is my lovely boyfriend and travel buddy Nathan who helped my take the pictures to put this post together.

The best part about Rome was definitely the food! I still have dreams about the pasta I can’t describe to you how incredible it was I wish i could make pasta like it!

We even managed to find the famous Giolitti after getting lost and walking round and round in circles. I heard about Giolitti’s from a few other bloggers like Estee Lalonde and Amelia Liana and it did not disappoint! I had Watermelon, Pineapple and Coconut and it was almost as big as my head.

IMG_8231_2

Whilst we were lost we found so many cute streets full of beautiful buildings and I even made a furry friend. There were also lots of cool shops in Rome that we don’t have in the UK and I had my first Sephora experience! I Picked up a few things and will be doing a post about them very soon.

I really love love animals so we spent a whole day in Rome zoo. It was an absolutely huge zoo and it even had brown bears which are my most favourite animal! I didn’t manage to get the best Photos of the animals but I did snap a few. Rome zoo is probably one of the best zoos I’ve ever been to as it had so many animals I had never seen, the weather was beautiful and it was loads of fun!

Of course we couldn’t go to Rome without going to the Colosseum! We went inside the Colosseum and Palatine Hill both of which were unlike anything I had ever seen! The Colosseum is enormous and almost doesn’t look real. I would definitely recommend going inside it was 100% worth it, we even had dinner just outside with the most amazing view. Palatine Hill also had beautiful gardens and was a really lovely place to spend the day.

We went to see the Trevi Fountain lots of times on our way back to the hotel. It was constantly packed with people and we even saw some proposals and made lots of wishes! Even though its very busy its still a nice place to sit and the fountain is incredible especially at night!

I had an amazing time in Rome and would definitely go again as there are still quite a few things I would like to do there and could definitely go for some more pasta!

Warm Winter Soup! | Broccoli & Stilton

Hello!

It has been snowing here for the past few days so I really needed something to warm me up. Cosy days are my favourite type of day and a snow day is the perfect excuse to have one. Broccoli and Stilton is my all time favourite soup and is super easy to make so I thought I’d share it with you incase you need an excuse to have a cosy day!

Broccoli is my most favourite vegetable and its so good for you! Broccoli is full of vitamins, is a really good source of protein and fibre and is packed full of  potassium, iron and calcium.

You Will Need

  • One stick of Celery chopped
  • One medium Potato diced
  • One Leek chopped
  • Whole Broccoli chopped
  • 140g of stilton (more or less depending on how cheesy you want it)
  • One Litre of Chicken stock
  • A little bit of Butter

0B28F6CD275E43AC9DD6225F6E404276

First melt the Butter in the pan then add the Leek, Celery and potato. Stir it all together and then cover with a lid for about 5 minutes to let the veggies sweat (check it a few times).

Next stir in a Litre of Chicken stock and pop the lid on again. Cook for 10 – 15 minutes until all the veggies are soft!

Transfer the veggies and stock into a blender (unless you like it chunky) and blend until its completely smooth and super green! Now pour the soup back into the pan and crumble in the stilton and stir until its all melted and yummy.

Now your soup is ready to eat! I put mine into a bowl and crumbled some extra cheese on top. I usually have soup with some nice crusty bread or toast (even a toast if your feeling wild).

B91B2A4DEF4C4E6B9F364BBAC812A63009D89897348B4EC8AC266B437193DDAA

This soup will definitely warm you up in this cold weather and is really delicious! I hope you all enjoyed this post and have a go at making the soup, let me know if you like it!

See you all very soon!
