Clarins Lip Oil!

Since using my Clarin’s face oil I’ve been desperate to try their lip oil, so I finally took the plunge and treated myself to one. I chose the shade Raspberry, a nice bright pink that smells like sweets!

It comes in a little bottle with a spongy applicator so its very easy to apply. It leaves a very slight tint of pink on your lips and is not sticky at all. I put this oil on before go to bed so it sinks in and I wake up with super soft lips! Since I’ve been using this I have no dry skin on my lips at all, even in the cold weather. You only need to use a tiny bit of this oil at a time so this bottle should last me a good while.

I also got to choose three free samples to come with my order! I chose an eye cream as I haven’t really tried many and I’m always looking for a way to get rid of my dark circles. I also got the double serum as I’ve never used a serum and this one is supposed to be amazing! I also got a sample of the face oil I use to give to my mum. So far I’m really liking the eye cream but haven’t tried the serum yet.

I would definitely recommend this oil, especially if you struggle with chapped lips. It comes in lots of different flavours and colours so you’ll definitely find one you like!

I hope you liked this post, feel free to tell me your thoughts!

Brilliant Banana Bread!

I make banana bread all the time! It is quick and easy to make and is so so delicious! The bananas in it even let me convince myself its healthy. Banana’s are a natural source of  Potassium and Carbs and make the bread very naturally sweet, so if you have a sweet tooth this is definitely for you.

This is a very simple recipe so you won’t need to many ingredients. It is best to wait until your bananas are over ripe so they are squishy and mashable! I usually make this if I have old bananas I don’t want to waste.

You Will Need

  • 140g Softened Butter
  • 140g plain four
  • 140g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tea spoon of baking powder
  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 loaf tin + baking paper

First off you will need to mix together your Butter and Sugar until they are lighter in colour and quite fluffy!

Crack your two eggs into a jug and beat together. Add them to the mixture bit by bit with a small amount of the flour so its not to sloppy. Once its all mixed together add the rest of the flour and combine.

Now add a tea spoon of baking powder, your mashed banana and mix it all together so the banana is evenly spread through the mix. Finally pour the mixture into a lined loaf tin and pop it in the over for 30-40 minutes.

Poke a Knife or a skewer into the bread, if it comes out clean its done! Carefully take it out of the tin and peel the baking paper off. Dust with icing sugar and now its ready to eat. Its extra good while its still warm!

I hope you all enjoy this quick Banana bread recipe, have a go at making it and let me know how it goes!

Mini TK Max Haul!

I have recently discovered the wonders of TK Max! I had no idea that they had a beauty section and now I know I’m obsessed. All the products are very good quality for much cheaper prices and some are very high end! Naturally I went on a little shopping spree so I thought I’d show you my mini haul.

First I found this Rose Micellar Cleanser by Adora Skin for £4.99. Usually I use a cleansing balm so this is a nice change as it makes taking my make up off super quick and easy. I pour some of this onto a cotton pad and gently wipe away my make up. I love that this doesn’t leave my skin dry but makes it feel very clean and nourished. It does sting a little bit if it gets in my eyes but thats understandable because your not supposed to put it in your eyes…

I usually use coconut oil on my hair once a week as a hydrating mask so I picked up this coconut hair oil mist for £5.99. I spray a little bit of this onto my hair while its wet, comb it through and let it dry. Since I’ve been using this my hair has definitely been incredibly soft and very voluminous! I really really love this and would definitely recommend it especially if you have curly hair. remember with oil that less is more or you’ll be very greasy but it really keeps my hair hydrated and much less frizzy! This is definitely going to be a permanent part of my hair care routine.

Now this is where it get really really exciting!

I found a Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick for £4.99 instead of £19! I cannot believe they had these for such a good price! I picked the shade Jelly Donut which is very vibrant and the perfect shade for spring. Ive really been loving this as its not drying like most liquid lipsticks. Its also very buildable so you can have it super pink and bright or very natural so it looks like your real lips but better. Its in a squeezy tube with a sponge applicator so its very easy to apply and very wearable! I’m very tempted to go and get more of these…

I also found one of my holy grail eyeliners for £4.99 instead of the usual £16! Eyeko liners are my favourite eyeliners in the whole world, I always have one in my makeup bag as they last so long and are super easy to use. I am going to do a whole post on how much a love them very very soon! This one if the fat liner which is like a giant marker pen, perfect for bold liner looks.

So its safe to say I am now a big fan of TK Max and am definitely going to keep shopping there and looking for new bargains! I also found a Clarin’s lipstick for £7.99 but I gave it to my mum for mothers day so its not in this haul.  I would definitely recommend you pop down to your nearest TK Max (TJ Max if your in America) and have a browse in the beauty section as you could find some great stuff.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, let me know your thoughts!

speak to you very soon!

Warm Winter Soup! | Broccoli & Stilton

It has been snowing here for the past few days so I really needed something to warm me up. Cosy days are my favourite type of day and a snow day is the perfect excuse to have one. Broccoli and Stilton is my all time favourite soup and is super easy to make so I thought I’d share it with you incase you need an excuse to have a cosy day!

Broccoli is my most favourite vegetable and its so good for you! Broccoli is full of vitamins, is a really good source of protein and fibre and is packed full of  potassium, iron and calcium.

You Will Need

  • One stick of Celery chopped
  • One medium Potato diced
  • One Leek chopped
  • Whole Broccoli chopped
  • 140g of stilton (more or less depending on how cheesy you want it)
  • One Litre of Chicken stock
  • A little bit of Butter

First melt the Butter in the pan then add the Leek, Celery and potato. Stir it all together and then cover with a lid for about 5 minutes to let the veggies sweat (check it a few times).

Next stir in a Litre of Chicken stock and pop the lid on again. Cook for 10 – 15 minutes until all the veggies are soft!

Transfer the veggies and stock into a blender (unless you like it chunky) and blend until its completely smooth and super green! Now pour the soup back into the pan and crumble in the stilton and stir until its all melted and yummy.

Now your soup is ready to eat! I put mine into a bowl and crumbled some extra cheese on top. I usually have soup with some nice crusty bread or toast (even a toast if your feeling wild).

This soup will definitely warm you up in this cold weather and is really delicious! I hope you all enjoyed this post and have a go at making the soup, let me know if you like it!

See you all very soon!

The Face Oil I Can’t Be Without!

I have never really stuck to a daily skin routine or used any products on my skin other than moisturiser. So recently I’ve really been trying to get into a skin routine and commit to it because this face has to last me a life time! I’ve been trying out lots of new products to see what works with my skin, I never thought I’d like a face oil as I already have slightly oily skin but I have found one that I love!

I got this Clarin’s face oil for Christmas after I had run out of the sample as I just couldn’t be without it! This is the first Clarin’s product I have ever used and I’m super impressed.

I use this Lotus face oil most nights after I have moisturised to help rebalance the oils in my skin. When I wake up my skin is glowy, soft and dewy! Its Important to apply your face oil after your moisturiser as if you apply it before the oil acts as a barrier and prevents the moisturiser from reaching the skin.

This oil is made completely from extracts of lotus and hazelnut which help to tighten pores, balance the skin, hydrate and prevent fine lines. The lotus oil is for combination to oily skin but they also have an Santal oil for dry skin and a blue orchid oil which I’m sure are just as lovely as this one.

The oil comes in a 30ml bottle with a dropper so its super easy to apply and not at all messy. my skin feels nourished and radiant after using this and it will definitely be in my skin routine for a while! Im definitely going to invest in one of their lip oils next!

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I’ll see you again very soon!

New Year, New Skin!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope it has started off well for everyone. I haven’t blogged for absolutely ages as I’ve had exams but I’m back now with lots of fresh ideas for this year!

Throughout January I really struggling with my skin and had constant breakouts so I’ve been trying out a few new products!

My saviour this month has been The Body Shop Tea Tree skin clearing clay mask!

As you know The Body Shop is one of my all time favourite brands and this product definitely did not disappoint!

This cooling clay mask uses Tea Tree to dry up any spots without drying out your skin. I started using this mask twice a week and definitely noticed a big difference. Tea Tree purify’s your skin by deeply cleansing it and calms any break outs. As well as helping to get rid of spots this mask also absorbs excess sebum which gives you smoother skin, which is especially helpful if you have oily skin.

I applied a thick layer of the mask making my face completely green! left it for around 20 minutes and then rinsed it off with warm water. My face is now a lot less oily and I have a lot less breakouts.

This mask has really helped get by breakouts under control and I would definitely recommend trying it if you have problem skin.

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I’ll see you again very soon!

Roasted Butternut Squash Hummus Recipe!

Everybody loves Hummus, especially me! I think its the perfect lunchtime snack or addition to a healthy meal. I have recently started making my own Hummus so I thought I would share one of my favourite recipes with you.

Butternut Squash is one of my favourite Winter vegetables and I try to eat as much as possible. I was over the moon when I found out you could put it in Hummus! This is a super simple recipe that only takes you about 10 minutes to make and leaves you with enough Hummus for a whole week.

For this recipe you will need:

  • Butternut Squash
  • 1 tin of chickpeas
  • 1 teaspoon of Tahini
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Water
  • A blender

I used pre-prepared butternut squash chips but you can prepare it yourself if you want to. I only used a handful of squash as it adds a lot of flavour to the Hummus and gives it a creamy texture. Put the Butternut Squash on a baking tray and roast at 200ºc for 20 minutes until it is soft.

Now the hard part is over!

Next drain your Chickpeas and put them into a blender along with the roasted Butternut Squash, Tahini, Salt and pepper.

Add a squeeze of lemon to add some extra zingy flavour! I usually add a splash of water to avoid it becoming dry like the sahara desert. Once this is done, blend until it is smooth.

Now add some olive oil and pepper and enjoy the creamy delight that is Hummus! I usually eat mine with toasted Pita Bread or Carrot sticks!

I hope you all enjoyed this recipe and have a go at making this yummy Hummus!
